A shooting incident under investigation in Defiance has now advanced to a grand jury indictment for Attempted Aggravated Murder. DefianceCounty prosecutor Morris Murray reports 44 year old Pauletta Salinas of Defiance has been indicted on the attempted murder charge, and faces up to 11 years in prison. The charge includes a firearm specification, which could add an additional 3 years to the sentence if Salinas is convicted.
Salinas was also charged with Felonious Assault, in connection with the shooting of Vincent Salinas, Jr. of Definace. The grand jury indictment alleges Pauletta Salinas ‘did attempt to purposely, and with prior calculation and design, cause the death of Vincent Salinas, Jr.
A cash bond of $150,000 was set for Salinas in Defiance County Common Pleas Court.
In addition, prosecutor Murray reports four subjects have been arrested in DefianceCounty, in connection with multiple break-ins that occurred at several businesses since May of this year. The indictments include 20 year old Sierra Hatchet, 18 year old Seth Lumbardo, 18 year old Mitchell Gerken, and 20 year old Justin Jennings- all of Defiance. Felony charges of Safe-Cracking were also filed against all four suspects.
