The second quarter has opened with higher sales tax revenues in HenryCounty. Auditor Kevin Garringer reports the April sales tax receipts hit $294,424; which is about 2.7% higher than last year at this time. This month’s revenues are the third highest April figures in history for HenryCounty, trailing 2012, and 2006 figures. Thus far in 2014, the sales tax in HenryCounty has generated over 1.2 million dollars. But that’s still about $10,000 behind last year’s receipts through four months. Those sales tax revenues generally reflect local sales from about 3 months ago.
