PELMEAR FILED LAWSUIT AGAINST HENRY COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
The developer of a high efficiency engine has filed a lawsuit in Defiance County Common Pleas Court seeking damages from the Henry County Commissioners and Maumee Valley Planning Organization. The attorney for Doug Pelmear at Horsepower Sales reports the suit is asking for at least $25,000 in damages, in connection with a $50,000 loan that Pelmear received from commissioners, to help pay for legal fees while he applied for international patents for his engine. The lawsuit claims the commissioners failed to comply with proper loan closing procedures, and that Henry County officials falsified loan documents. The suit continues to charge commissioners and others with trying to conceal their false documents; and then engaged in dispersing libelous information about Doug Pelmear. Defiance County Common Pleas Court has ordered a response from the Henry County Commissioners and Maumee Valley Planning Organization in the next month.
