PATRICK HENRY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES ARCHITECT

The Patrick Henry school board of education has selected their architect for a building project at the high school-middle school campus.   The resolution approved Monday night means Beilharz Architects of Defiance will design the classroom addition, with a contract ranging between $497,000 up to $510,000.   Still to be determined by the Patrick Henry board is who will oversee construction for the project.

The Patrick Henry board also passed a resolution to place a renewal levy on the ballot in November for emergency requirements of the district.   This levy raises about $747,000 each year for school operations.

Prices for lunches will be going up by 5-cents for students in pre-school through 12th grade this fall; while adult lunches at Patrick Henry schools were raised by 25-cents.

The Patrick Henry board has made a change in their policy for a class trip to WashingtonDC.   Due to changes in the curriculum, that trip will be moved from 5th grade, to the 8th grade year.   That means no class will go until 2018.

The board accepted the resignation of Elizabeth Fitzenreiter as intervention teacher, and from Joe Pennington as Jr. High athletic director.   The vacant high school AD position is currently in the interview phase for the final three candidates, after 8 original applicants.
