Textbooks are okay when it comes to teaching students about wildlife and habitat.   But there’s nothing like the hands-on experience of young people in the outdoors up-close to animals and their surroundings.

Teachers that are interested in taking their students to the wild outdoors can get funding help with grants from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.  These grants are worth $500 each, and are awarded on a competitive basis.   Funding comes from license fees collected from hunters and fisherman across the Buckeye State.     For more information check-out the website
