Several northwest Ohio counties saw their unemployment rates tumble below the state average during the month of October.  With a state-wide jobless rate at 7% last month, Henry County checked-in at 6.4%, and Defiance County at 6.9%.  Fulton County’s unemployment rate was above the state average in October, at 7.4%, and Williams County hit 7.1%.   As usual, Putnam County’s jobless number last month was lowest in the region at 5.9%; and Wood County checked-in at 6.8%.  Every county in northwest Ohio reported lower unemployment numbers from September to October, except for Williams County, which held steady.

            Around the Buckeye State, Meigs County had the highest unemployment rate last month at 12%.    And the lowest jobless numbers around Ohio in October were recorded in Mercer County at 4.3%, and Homes County at 4.7.
