NAPOLEON VOTERS TURN DOWN INCOME TAX FOR SCHOOL

Another request for operating money for the Napoleon Area School district has been turned down by voters in a special election.   On Tuesday, Napoleon district residents voted down a half-percent income tax, by a margin of 140 votes in unofficial balloting.         A previous request for a property tax had also been defeated by Napoleon school district voters.

While the Napoleon school board will be working on cutting operating expenses; there are still plans underway for construction of a new junior high addition to the high school in the next year, along with renovations at the high school facility.  That will be followed by construction of a new elementary building for Napoleon children.
