HOLGATE COUNCIL STILL SEEKING BIDS FOR FORMER SCHOOL PROPERTY

The village of Holgate is currently accepting bids for the purchase of the former school property along Frazier Street.  There are several parcels in that location, and those bids are due at the municipal building by December 2nd.   Holgate Council will open and review those bids at their next meeting, which is December 10th.   That will be council’s only meeting during December.

Residents in Holgate are reminded, it is not allowed to rake leaves to the curb, due to problems with catch basins.  Village crews will only pickup leaves that are bagged and left at the curb.

And Holgate Council was questioned about the issue of a sex offender moving into the village, and how residents can find-out that information.  Council reports, the Henry County Sheriff’s office has a website that identifies all sex offenders in the county, and where they live.  There is also an alert feature, that residents can be notified if a sex offender moves within a half-mile of a certain address, through their computer.
