HENRY COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPROVE FRIDAY NOON CLOSURE FOR JOB AND FAMILY SERVICES

 

The Henry County Commissioners have approved a pilot program of closing the office of Job and Family Services at noon on Fridays.   This closing will utilized on a 90-day trial bases; but employees would still work a 40-hour week.  Defiance, Putnam, and Paulding counties are already using a similar shortened work week.

Additional costs for foster care of local youth has prompted the Henry County Commissioners to transfer $300,000 from the general fund, to Job and Family Services.  The original outlay of $350,000 for this expense has already been used-up.   There are close to 30 children from Henry County that require foster care.

The Henry County board has approved a request from the Napoleon Fire Department, and chief Bob Bennett, to utilize two homes for training on Yeager Street in Napoleon, that are targeted for demolition.  Prior approval was also received from the land-owner and contractor handling the tear-down.   The location of those properties is 259 and 261 Yeager Street.

                                    Commissioners approved the payment of $1,000 to a funeral home in Defiance, to take care of expenses for an indigent veteran of Henry County.

And there was no action following an executive session by Henry County commissioners to discuss litigation.
