ELECTION DAY 2013 ONE WEEK AWAY

 

With over 19,100 residents in Henry County registered to vote; 677 have gotten the jump on the general election by casting their ballots early.  The Henry County Board of Elections reports 360 have been cast on the electronic machine at their office in the Oakwood Office Complex.   And another 317 early ballots were received through the mail.

Early voting will be available at the board of elections offices until this Friday at 6pm.  The board office in Henry County will be open from 8am till 6pm on October 31st and November 1st.

Some of the hotly contested races to watch in Henry County include Napoleon city council, and Liberty Center school board.

There are five candidates running for 4 open slots on Napoleon council.  They are Jason Maassel, Jeffrey Marihugh, Travis Scheafer , Heather Wilson and write-in candidate- Jonathon Tassler.

The Liberty Center school board race features five candidates:  Peter Leatherman, John Weaver, Tim Bowers, Eric Witte, and Jonathon Kundo.

School issues will also be part of the ballot in Henry County, with Napoleon Area Schools seeking passage of an additional levy of 2.9 mills for current operating expenses, for a period of 5 years.

And Holgate Local Schools are requesting support for two renewal levies, one to supply emergency requirements, and the other is for paying toward construction, renovations, and remodeling of the facilities.
