In about one month, voters in the Buckeye State will be going to the polls for the 2014 primary election. And one of the issues Napoleon city residents will find on the ballot deals with the issue of dispatch service at the police department. A 'no' vote is required to keep the dispatch service at the police department; while a 'yes' vote would send dispatch to the sheriff's office, for the city of Napoleon.
On the primary ballot, the dispatch issue is listed as “an advisory election for the city of Napoleon dispatch operation’. When asked what that means, Napoleon law director Trevor Hayberger stated it was a non-binding question for residents. So the primary vote does not officially decide the issue of dispatch in Napoleon. That decision is still in the hands of Napoleon City Council.
