BALLOT LANGUAGE SET FOR DISPATCH ISSUE IN NAPOLEON

After debate among members of Napoleon city council Monday night, the language for the ballot issue concerning dispatch service has been nailed down.    This ballot issue would go before voters next May, to determine whether the city should transfer dispatch service to the Henry County Sheriff’s office.    This language will need to be approved in resolution form by the Napoleon city council.          This is the proposed language that came from Monday’s council session:      “Shall the city of Napoleon cease operating its Police, Fire, and EMS dispatch as it currently operates, and outsource said operations to the Henry County Sheriff?’

In the months leading up to that May election, the city of Napoleon will likely share with residents the estimated cost-savings for such a transfer.  So far there have been conflicting numbers for those cost savings coming from various city officials.
