Defiance Local News

Following a request from students in the high school last Spring, the Archbold school administration is considering a drug testing program.  Superintendent Aaron Rex reports that drug testing is done in schools as a safety measure for students, and to provide an avenue of help for those that need it.                  Archbold will be applying for a grant of $175,000 that can help provide funds for computers and other learning activities.  They should know if they are approved sometime in December.

In personnel action, the Archbold board accepted the resignation of bus driver Randy Ruffer , and they hired Aaron Babcock to take the open slot.              Three employees were moved-up on the salary scale for their education, including Michelle Kinsey, Tracy Kuhlman, and Dawn Rupp.                   And the Archbold board of education has approved a renewal levy for the community library, to go on the ballot next May.
